Bitcoin hovers around $84,000 as bets on another Fed rate hike rise
Bitcoin traded near $84,490 Thursday, down from the $87,397 high it touched Monday, and CME's FedWatch tool puts October rate-hike odds at roughly 75%, according to Decrypt.
The Fed raised rates on September 16 to a target range of 3.75%-4%, Decrypt reports. The 10-year Treasury note closed Wednesday at 5.11%, up 15 basis points in one day, and the five-year note auction cleared at the highest yield since 2006, according to CoinDesk.
On Friday, September 25, $15 billion in bitcoin options expire on Deribit. The put-to-call ratio is 0.70, and calls are concentrated at $85,000, $90,000 and $100,000, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
