Goldman Sachs expects Big Tech to spend $1.2 trillion on AI infrastructure in 2027
The $1.2 trillion figure is $100 billion above the Wall Street consensus of $1.1 trillion, according to The Decoder.
Goldman projects about $800 billion for 2026, nearly double the year before, growth of 54% in 2027 and 12% in 2028. Strategist Ryan Hammond's estimate covers Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Oracle and Meta, according to The Decoder.
The rise in U.S. Treasury yields makes that buildout more expensive for AI companies that borrow to fund it, according to CNBC.
